This was an exciting project for clients who are keen plants people.
They wanted a lush garden with a large space to enjoy with friends and family, lawn space for the kids and dog, and views from the living area.
The wide path off the alfresco gives room kids to scoot and provides spill out space, with a seat or two on the stone feature wall.
On one side of the stone wall is a vertical garden bursting with plants, and on the opposite side a corten steel feature creates visual interest with a material that repeats from the front garden walls to the screen, then flows on to the rear garden retaining.
The slate crazy pave which defines the fire pit area, corten steel and timber adds a natural, more relaxed feel to the area.
The structured and clipped but asymmetric planting provides an opportunity for the clients to spend time in the garden without it being overly formal.
